Although I can and do wear courtly gowns when appropriate, I am a Magyar, and grew up on horseback. One day, while out riding with my father, we were beset by a band of brigands. It was a visiting foreign noble, Lord Keith of Cardiff, who saved us, single-handedly defeating the entire band of 12 brigands. Lord Keith refused all offers of reward, save two: the King's friendship towards Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth Glorianna, and the hand of Princess Edit in marriage. [For the sake of the plotline and fun, we're fudging the fact that King Matyas ruled 100 years before Queen Elizabeth I.] Being that it was a custom that Hungarian princesses marry only royalty or Hungarian nobles, King Matyas made Lord Keith the Count of Hunyad, with a castle located at Vajdahunyad. I also have my own duchy: Pest-Pilis-Solt-Kis-Kun, with my castle situated in Buda.
My husband and I have visited the Faire in Hollygrove before, but have only revealed our identities this past summer.
[Oh, Princess Edit is also a rather shy individual...all those years spent on horseback, instead of at the royal court...methinks Lord Keith and Sir William Sargent have determined that they will attempt to pull her further from her shell, as they managed it only a little so far... :) ]
